GQEP signs up with PhilNITS

GQEP has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine National IT Standards Foundation (PhilNITS) to be the main partner in facilitating review classes and examinations on Japan IT engineers examinations

FE - Fundamental IT Engineer
AP - Applied IT Engineer (used to be called SW)
FE Exam consists of 2 parts and given twice a year AP consists of 3 parts and given once a year.to be held at Informatics Diliman, no. 29 North Avenue, Quezon City.

" FE Fundamental IT Engineers Exam
The Fundamental IT Engineers Exam (FE) is one of the 14 exams given by the Japan IT Engineers Examination Center (JITEC) of the Information technology Promotions Agency (IPA) of the Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI) of Japan. These exams are based on an established Information Technology Engineers Skill Standards (ITSS).
The FE Exam is used to evaluate the knowledge and skills of an IT personnel (engineer) on the fundamentals of I.T.
The Fundamental IT Engineers Exam (FE) requires the person to have the ability to develop a good program by making full use of techniques related to basic-level algorithm and data structure. The FE Exams also requires the person to be able to successfully carry out jobs such as program development, unit tests, and system integration tests.
Those who fail either the morning or afternoon part of the exam are given 1 year to take the removal exam after which they will have to take the entire test again. This means 2 chances to pass the exam.
SW Software Engineers Exam
This exam is given once a year by the same agencies as the FE exam. The exam is translated to English by JITEC and given to people who have at least 2 years work experience in software development and who are competent in basic software, middleware and applications software.
Basic software: Able to perform design, developemnt, customization and techical support on basic software management of the whole computer system and provide basic functions, such as operation system, language, network etc. that exploits hardware characteristics.
Middleware: Able to perform design, development, customization and technical support on platform-dependent software that provides functions such as database management, transaction processing functions and distributed object environment.
Applications Software: Able to perform design, development and technical support on software that supports business transformation, business process improvement and increase of work efficiency utilizing information system for a certain purpose or in a certain area such as business packages (including ERP and CRM) and office suite.
